Accelerate Aptera Leaderboard

Certainly the total investment will determine your position in the leaderboard (and therefore should be listed), but I would think it would also be helpful to list the new investment, too (i.e., add a column to the table) so we can see how they’re progressing towards their goal of $20-50 M.
-
I am planning on investing 10k or more once I can see people’s total investment and rank. I would also would like to see the total amount raised in the current campaign added to it.
-
-
Fair enough Gabriel, I am also waiting to actually see a true leader board. For me it only makes sense. Although I find it truly admirable that there are people actually investing their 10k after the new fundraising campaign announcement and have no intention of receiving an LE iteration. Much kudos to them!

The Leaderboard now shows the total investment (new investments only) and the total number of investors (on a sidebar to the right of the table). A footnote below the table indicates that they will be adding a column that shows the investors’ previous investments (if any), which factor into the rankings. The investments currently shown are the new investments ONLY. It appears that the current rankings are based only on the new investments. I’m sure it is their intent to update the rankings to reflect the total investment, not just the new investment (as this is one of the “rules of the game”).
So far: 74 investors and $824,985.00 of new investment. Not a bad start…

People were willing to pay double the price for the first F150 lightnings to be produced
Im sure there are aptera cultists that would pay 100k or more to be the first owner of an aptera. Build 10 by hand and auction them off to the highest bidders. Im sure even that temptation would bring in some rich car buffs from all over the world wanting to own a rare collectible.
-
-
The difference is the Ford Lightning buyer is over paying for his truck and the Aptera owner is investing in shares of the company for the right to own the first Aptera.

Why the need to post this when the leader board is one click away or just book mark the page?
-
I imagine it’s not just to provide updates, but a historical record of the leader board.
-
Exactly correct. I like to keep a record of many things I follow. It’s a disease :o))

I predict that the number of investors per week will follow a shallow U shaped path, as seems to be common in Kickstarter campaigns and event registrations, with a sharp spike at the end as the deadline approaches. Furthermore I predict under 1000 extra investments at day 45 and that one-third of action (either by number of investors or dollars) will be in the final 15 days.
I also predict that it will take me until mid-March to gather $10k.
It is entertaining to check the board a couple of times per day. I would love to see 2000 hit by March.
-
Anyone who invests over 200k gets a hand built Aptera! This seems like such a great marketing idea from many angles but maybe reality dictates they can’t do this.
-
Looks like they’ve stalled, it’s been $1.2M for a couple of days.
-
I believe some of us are waiting for APTERA to post combined investment tallies of all who just made new investments…at least that is what I’m doing.
-
-
98 investors 1.22 million.
From what I gather They need 25 million by March 27th or they miss their matching grant again from the republic of California.
Missing the grant deadline is what killed aptera the first time.
98 of 40000 invested.
In advertising you hope for 1% return if you get 2% it’s a huge win. Right now they are sitting at .245%
Things need to really pickup in the next 2 months.

Can it be a partial match? If they get to $5M would California match $5M? The rest goes to a different grantee or back in the pot? I’m not sure what data they were accessing when they put this together but I still have a hard time believing there is $20M more out there from their fans.
-
James, could you please tell us where you gathered that info. from. I do not recall ever hearing anything like that from Aptera.

Looks like they updated with previous investments…wow!

As of 5PM Feb. 1 with 103 entries on the leader board, a total of 28 different US states exist.
I did not count but far & away the one state which appeared most often was California.-
I’m not sure if I can swing this additional investment. But even so I don’t think I want to drive across the country with 400 mile of range (likely less with my driving style and air conditioning preference). It’s more advantageous for California residents.

You will have the option to ship your vehicle. You would need to arrange for the shipment yourself through a transport company.

I’m a little frustrated. It’s been 5 days and now instead of my entry being updated with all of my investments, I’ve been dropped from the leaderboard entirely. I’ve verified on my credit card that the last qualifying investment did go through, and I was on the leaderboard after I made it. To make matters worse, Now my account’s investment page shows no investments listed when previously it show my first two. I’ve also never been sent invites to investor presentations even though I was an early investor. I’m starting to get a complex or a feeling I’ve been blacklisted for some reason by Aptera but can’t figure out why. Has anyone else had the same experience. I hate to keep on bugging the Aptera investment team but it a bit worrying. Has anyone else experienced the same?
-
Sorry to hear of your frustrating experience, Heidi. You might try emailing one of the Aptera staff directly and report your situation. Will Reynolds has been very responsive. He is not in charge of investing at Aptera, but you might start with him. His email has been shared before. It is william.reynolds@aptera.us

Found out my mistake. I invested through Republic instead of the Aptera invest site. Apparently Republic investments do not qualify.

I am surprised people aren’t picking up on the fact that you get a 5% discount on the listed purchase price. That should be around $1700 discount if they don’t just raise the price. So your $10k investment is only $8300 with hopefully some stock price increase or dividends in 2025 or so.
I am still on the fence. If the list starts to grow rapidly I might throw in. It would be nice to get one of the first 2000 units by the end of the year.
Right now I am a little worried they will fall way short which might be really bad PR.

Trying to scrape together the $10K+. I have a question that doesn’t seem to be covered by the official verbiage on the Aptera website re: the accelerator program. My question is can I get pushed out of the queue by a flurry of $20K investors AFTER I clock in at, say, investor slot 1955 of 2000? That is, someone comes in at $20K in position 2001 in the queue. Does that person’s higher dollar investment push me down and out?
-
Seems safest to assume that, yes, you would be shuffled off, unless we get official word otherwise. Also easy to imagine them just expanding the list beyond 2000; if they get more than 2000 $10k new investments.
There’s an argument for leaving the cap in place to encourage folks to chip in more to get back on the list. There’s also an argument for not discouraging or disappointing people by making room for more than 2000 if that’s where they find themselves.
-
Well, let’s see. The leader board so far is listed in order of total investment, regardless of investment date. I wonder if they’re going to change that any time in the process? What do you think?
-
Truly, once started, you shouldn’t change rules, strategies are created from what has been understood. Leader Board means just that…top 2,000 investors. This is a one time fund raising opportunity for APTERA directed towards production. Changing the rules is not a good idea. There is a cap for the fundraising at around $50,000,000.
Fulfilling the 2,000 slots will put APTERA well on their way. Let’s not make others feel if they can’t invest at all or anymore, be put further back on the list.
Investing your 10k will not guarantee your place for early LE delivery. My experience, if you consider APTERA a good investment, then by all means…INVEST. If you are trying to get into a slot of 2,000 for an early delivery you may or may not make it if you only plan on doing the minimum. I would wait until the last day to see how many available slots are left. There will be a rush of investment I believe for at least the top 100 spots, as those numbers will be coveted.
I am also starting to see more foreign investments, not sure quite yet how it will affect the board, but definitely keeping an eye. For many countries, APTERA may not be legal for high number imports, but importing just a few cars maybe doable.
I have done many auctions in my life, including vehicle, art, antique and fine rugs. It’s best not to get caught up in the excitement, but to have a level head with what ever your goal maybe.
-
Thanks, John. Appreciate your sharing your auction behavior observations based on experience.

@john
This isn’t an auction. If people think it is and they get caught up in it and thinking they are bidding for a car , they aren’t. They are bidding for the opportunity to buy a 30k car. So you bid 30k to make sure you get one. And now you’ve affectively paid 60k for said car.
Granted. Yes you invest in the company. For your $10,000 investment you get 5% off the list price of the vehicle and your $100 deposit back.
Read the program !
This is the first phase of production it says so Funding the first phase at which point it will take another 12 months and more cash !
-
You’re buying shares at $10.50 apiece, with a chance of the side benefit of an earlier delivery.
