Let’s not forget to bring this back from the old forum! Afterall, it’s nice to see how many of our fellows we can expect to see on the road. ;P

And for the new people just signing on, why not add to the map? After-all, I can’t be the only one is Saskatchewan, right? ….Right? D:

That should be fixed now. Click on “My Account” in upper right corner. Then click on “Review orders” on the left side.

Thats news to me, I thought the OrderID was not an accurate reflection of the reservation number. I thought the date of deposit established the order in which potential buyers will be contacted.

My deposit date was 2021-11-07 but the OrderID=4345. I’d be happy to be in line at 4345, but when I reserved, I recall seeing there were already 12-13k pre-existing reservations.

I am a full time rver and South Dakota allows you to be a resident and the only requirement is to spend one over night stay every 5 years. I use a mail forwarding company who gives me an address and forwards my mail to me. Texas and Florida are two other states that attract full time rvers because of no state taxes and other benefits. I live in Pennsylvania 6 months of the year so that is where my Aptera will be most of the time.

I just went to my desk computer (this post is from my iPad) and opened the reservation map. Wow. Very cool. Discovered a Paradigm reservation holder just down the road from me. Jim T – if you read this, would love to connect with you somehow, or at least see your Paradigm when it comes in. So, how do I add myself without messing up the map?

Underneath the search bar is a few options. ‘Add Marker’ is on the right side of the hand. Simply click that, and place it. Then you can edit/fill in whatever info you want to share. 😛

If your asking to mess with the list on the left? I have no clue. I didn’t start the map, I just had the link saved and posted it with the transfer to the new forum. XP

I’m still working on a model with multiple pieces, clear windows (0.5mm clear plastic sheet), and moving wheels/doors and an interior. Hopefully the first version should be out by tomorrow (early draft). I really thought I’d be done weeks ago but life got in the way. Just need to finish the seats, displays and connections pins between pieces.

Yay. I just found another Aptera neighbor near Charleston, SC! I love this map. Maybe in the future, after delivery, the 3 of us (maybe more) can form an Aptera caravan through Charleston, then back and forth on the Ravenel bridge. Talk about Aptera exposure and promotion! Wow. (I wonder just how we can connect.)

I was born and raised their (62 yrs), if that counts but moved to AZ for the Never Charge????

I believe Harry P is from NJ!

I plan to drive back with my Sol to visit!

NJ can be a more friendly EV state!

It was fantastic with PV solar “back in the day” on our old NJ home ( I understand that changed some though)

It you need a free charge in southern AZ let me know ! The secret word is your state license plate slogan????

Hi Len, Thank you very much for the offer. Likewise.

Yeah Harry P from NJ. Get on it! Make your presence known on the NJ map! lol 😀

NJ is going back to becoming a more renewable and EV-friendly state. The new governor just passed something or other that would install 68 more charging stations around the state along major highways. That’s a step in the proper direction.

Also, some more positive news for EV buyers in NJ to get deep cuts in their expenses when purchasing an EV. Not sure this would apply to the Aptera. If not, hopefully the good Aptera folks are doing everything in their power to lobby to have our solar vehicle included in the legislation. Here’s a discussion thread I started about that: https://aptera.us/community/discussion/if-youre-from-new-jersey-your-aptera-could-end-up-costing-you-only-13400/

      Hello Ron, thanks for replying.

Do you think there will be any problems importing these to BC?

And/or any issues insuring them? I’ve considered sending ICBC contact info to Aptera for them to ‘pave’ the way prior to delivery…

  • Ronnie

    Member

I don’t see a problem. If they are DOT licensable in the U.S., that is more than half of it.

Paths have been put in place by some other manufacturers (Bombardier/CanAm, Campagna, SOLO &/or others) and the three-wheel motorcycle classification part also makes them much easier to bring to market regulatorily.

N.B. Still ensure they ROCK with superior/automotive safety & they will be ahead of the game.

P.S. Political Climate; I think the pressure is on for eco-friendly answers in the marketplace and the politics of ALL parties should be good with willingness to assist.

Given these are going to be built non traditionally in “micro factories” (think boats or some trailers) of sorts, opening a small CANADIAN facility is in Aptera’s benefit & favour as I’m sure there would be gov’t BUY-IN, support, favorable terms and/or investment IMHO. Leverage it.

    • Mike Barrett

      Member

Right, I forgot that there are currently at least a couple of 3 wheeled units out there; I have encountered a few Solo’s in the lower mainland over the last couple of years.

Is there currently a plan to set-up manufacturing in Canada?

Personally, I’m interested in putting my retired tech skills to work as an Aptera ‘repair’ agent in my locale, should anyone else on the Sunshine Coast acquire one. I expect to be lonely as the old Maytag repairman…

      • Ronnie

        Member

I think I understand their process, approach & intent to use some existing tech (perhaps reapplied, repurposed, reconceived) plus some newer tech who’s time has come (hub motors) and personal experiences in the recreational market with boats; composites & hull building.

That said, if you think of how some of this can be done in smaller, less complicated facilities… remote assembly of components nearer to target markets and cities is both doable and likely IMHO. Less is more in this regard regarding components; they found a sweet spot by thinking outside the box.

Canada should be up there high on their list and early.

Do you know, are you familiar with the steps required to Import the Aptera to BC/Can ?

I’m unclear if that will be up to Aptera to deal with or not, due to their statement that the car will be delivered to the new owner. Clearly there will be a large cost involved for taxes etc.

Any insights or info on this issue?
