This is regarding the car/part QR code technology, design, and aesthetic.
Like 99+% do, it seems Aptera is slapping a logo over the QR code, corrupting the original pattern, and hence requiring denser / larger QR code images for sufficient error correction.
I’d like to propose incorporating a (pixelated) logo into the data itself, so that it doesn’t interfere with the scanning robustness, while enabling smaller images. Some would say it looks more unified, too. There is leeway to use a different color or shade for the logo pixels, so it can still stand out.
In a former life, I did this for the QR codes of Google Cardboard (if you remember those devices).
To Aptera staff: feel free to reach out, I’m happy to advise.
