From an ad from aptera.invest on FB. it appears the current price or the investing round is ending. (Probably the former.) Get ’em while they’re hot kids.

The rest of the market is down substantially. Had Aptera followed that trend I could justify transferring some assets into Aptera stock. I suspect they want to raise their price. Bad timing for me.

I suspect that the market will be in recovery soon, hopefully, and that Aptera can have an IPO around October or later at an over $2 billion valuation that the CFO is aiming for.

Thank goodness Aptera did not have an IPO during the market downturn!

Thank you @Oz (It’s Oz, just Oz) for putting this information forward to us!

But… am I the only one who finds its weird that Aptera prefers to pay money for having us clicking on a Facebook ad in order to get Aptera’s latest first hand information instead of providing such information right from the beginning at no cost here on aptera.us? Maybe Aptera’s CMO @Sarah Hardwick can enlighten me about possible reasons thereof.

      Hey Markus,

      You’re welcome for the info.

As to costs involved, this my take, from my observations of what has been said by Aptera, and what to me is the most likely scenario. (I’d love verification from Aptera as well, though.)

The stock offerings are not handled by Aptera directly, this is a different skill set than that which is theirs. As with the original WeFunder campaign, you parcel something like this out to a specialist company, that’s why you click through a “portal” to get to the investment pages, different company, different website, different location. Aptera probably pays a set amount for each investment dollar, maybe a bonus for certain goals and/or timelines. Any costs incurred (In all likelihood) are absorbed by the investment middlemen, for advertising, processing, etc.

I don’t think the investment ads are a budgeted item by Aptera, as far as I can see the only advertising and promotions done by Aptera, have been videos and information put out through social media, interviews, and vehicle public appearances by Sarah H. and her marketing staff. A very efficient and low cost method of doing so. (And I shouldn’t leave out the Ambassadors and their efforts, also a very low cost method.)

It is now a News item on this site, I received an email about it later this morning and it is a pinned discussion in these forums. Looks like Aptera’s rollout of communications is catching up. In the email there wasn’t any reference to “last chance to invest”, so I strongly suspect we will see another investing round open up in the next few weeks at a higher valuation. As the current round started at or before there were about 16k reservations and now we are at 21k+ reservations, I’d expect this to factor in the new price per share.

Jon, as with the last price closure, (Dec/Jan?) I fully expect that if you go to the invest page on June 6th, investment will be continuing with a new price.

Well, I remember being curious in January about the new price and checking in multiple times after the funding round closed. I wasn’t met with the new price on the investing page, but rather the investing option not being available. I could be misremembering, or this could have been an earlier round in 2021. That’s why I say “next few weeks” as a hedge. I feel safe to say that it will happen, but doubt it will happen immediately.

You’re right Jon, I didn’t check the portal at that time, what I was remembering was from an update to their SEC filings for the change. (The continuing and contact to invest parts.)

“Aptera Motors Corp. (the “Company”) intends to end its active marketing efforts on December 31, 2021 for this offering, although the offering is continuing while the Company updates our investment portal. The Company plans to reopen the portal when the update and maintenance is completed. While the portal is closed, please contact 2022ApteraInvest@aptera.us if you are interested in an investment in Company.”

I am wondering instead of equity, whether some form of company debt can be offered next round. For example, for every $5000 company borrow, the lender will receive a $7500 voucher toward future purchase of Aptera. Assuming half of the existing 21k reservation holders take the bait, Aptera will have $50 million to finish the production. 😀
