I am sure that once there are more than 10K Apteras on the road that the goverment will start evaluating standards for autocycles and Aptera should be in a redesign phase before any significent changes are required.

Hopefully they will concider all of what Aptera has done for safety compaired to other autocycles and also the differences between open and closed autocycles.

In a post on LinkedIn Jason Hill shows a rendering which seems to have a few pieces we haven’t seen before:

Aptera Safety Engineering aspect is the most important feature of this vehicle.

Aptera safety ethos revolves around occupant safety. Our structures are designed to provide incredible strength and integrity combined with vehicle restraints – seatbelts – and supplemental systems – airbags. This total approach to structural and functional safety has guided us from inception and now we are just beginning to share the incredible results…”

Looks like they added a small roll cage, probably aluminum tubing.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I know there will not be side airbags, will both passengers have frontal airbags? It seems to me that somewhere there was talk about eliminating the passenger frontal airbag because of greater distance from the dash for the passenger.

I’m not happy about the lack of side curtain airbags, I hope they revisit that decision after the LE.

Charging causes EMI. What about the solar panels and the charger of the Aptera.. The panels will be just right above our heads. Anyone thought about this safety?

I suppose the risk is low given the small load compared to dc fast chargers.

But with the Aptera, of course, this happens during every ride.

Attached a document regarding the Electro-Magnetic interference of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (government).

It’s DC, there won’t be any emissions from the panels. The inverter will be shielded so it won’t have any emissions either, the FCC is very particular about electromagnetic interference so all devices that can generate emissions have to be shielded.

The Article that you attached was refering to solar farms and there inverters with many Megawatts of power. There invrters have fences around them to keep people safely away.

Unless where you live dosent have any electrial power, you will be exposed to more EMC-radition there than you will in an Aptera. So to be totalysafe at home disconnect the power from your home.
