Friends and family reactions to Aptera

If you are passionate about something, whether itâs for APTERA or anything else in your life, it is always fulfilling to follow your dream. Even if you fall short for what you are looking for or trying to accomplish, you will never know unless you try. There is no fulfillment unless you make the effort. There are always going to be naysayers, ask them what their goals or dreams areâŠ.more than likely, they have none.

My family is split. My son loves the idea. My wife doesnât even know about it yet. I wonât fight that battle until the Aptera goes into actual production. It took me a year to convince her to put solar on the house. I do this all for my son and my grandkids. It doesnât hurt to be the âBad-Assâ Poppa either!đČ

My son probably thought I was nuts, but he helped me option out mine. Surprisingly enough, a lot of family and friends are onboard with idea and are looking forward to riding in it!

You’re absolutely correct. Most people I’ve talked to are skeptical and with very good reasons. I too will be pleasantly surprised if and when Aptera makes it into actual production with a solid and reliable vehicle at an affordable and reasonable price. To me it makes perfect sense, and is well worth the gamble of only $50 (Xmas discount from the standard $100). I’ve spent more on lottery tickets over the years, and a lot more on other charities. To me Aptera is both a way to direct the future of this country in a positive direction as well as, condemn both the current automotive industry, oil companies, and any other monopolies that exert their power to further their own interests at the expense of the rest of us.

All of my family and friends are excited to see mine, and one brother has invested a small amount in Aptera. I think as they are ready to purchase new vehicles, Aptera will be a consideration for those who are okay with 2 seats. However, I was telling our mechanic about it as part of the discussion on why we are repairing our 2002 F150. We plan to keep the truck forever, since we do need one occasionally, and use the Aptera for daily driving. Another customer chimed in with the opinion that the battery would cost $30k to replace, it would be a disposable car, it wouldn’t work, and he knew everything because he used to work for the local electric company. He then climbed into his huge dually diesel truck to leave in a black cloud of exhaust. I was able to say that the battery would likely come with a 10 year warranty, but didn’t want to get into a prolonged discussion about drag coeffiecients since there were other customers waiting. No point in debating someone who has made up their minds and refuses to allow new, ACTUAL facts to enter… đ

Same here. It is difficult to be a logical, critical thinker in a sea of emotional thinkers.
Most people judge the Aptera on looks alone, ignoring the responsible and forward thinking that goes into something like this.

What do they say ???
âYou eat with your eyes first â
So if the plate is pristine and prepared to perfection, you will like it more than the same thing thrown hap hazard on the plate.
So to say people are emotional thinkers when they donât like the âlooksâ of something and ignore the âforward thinking innovationâ is pretty much the same as being an emotional thinker by lumping everyone into a category you donât agree with.
Not 1 person I have shown alter or has liked it. Most laugh hysterically and make fun of it. Are they emotional ? Or eating with their eyes first ?

Wife still hates it, even though we went to San Diego and sat in an Alpha. As near as I can tell, it’s the three-wheel motorcycle-ish look that puts her off. And its uniqueness. She is an artist and a long-standing car person, so I hear her out. But I think she’s wrong and we have a great relationship that allows us to make our own decisions – even mistakes! Check back in a year.

My wife isn’t a fan either but I reserved one for each of us. LE and noir 250. I tell friends and family about it and some think I’m nuts but my sister has reserved one for her weekly commute to DC. I am exited about the Aptera possibilities. I live 10 miles from work and 100 miles from my summer weekend get away. To have the freedom to drive where I want when I want and not having to think about fueling up is just incredibly liberating. In fact I will leave the destination with more fuel than I had when I arrived. That turns the weekend get away into a when ever you have time to get away!
