“Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles (2019 Remix):
Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun
And I say it’s all right
Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here
Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun
And I say it’s all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been here
Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun
And I say it’s all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been clear
Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun
And I say it’s all right
Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun
It’s all right
It’s all right

“Lovely Day” by Bill Withers:
When I wake up in the morning, love
And the sunlight hurts my eyes
And something without warning, love
Bears heavy on my mind
Then I look at you
And the world’s alright with me
Just one look at you
And I know it’s gonna be
A lovely day
… lovely day, lovely day, lovely day …
When the day that lies ahead of me
Seems impossible to face
When someone else instead of me
Always seems to know the way
Then I look at you
And the world’s alright with me
Just one look at you
And I know it’s gonna be
A lovely day…..
When the day that lies ahead of me
Seems impossible to face
When someone else instead of me
Always seems to know the way
Then I look at you
And the world’s alright with me
Just one look at you
And I know it’s gonna be
A lovely day……

Thanks for the R&T info, Ron. For those of us who don’t have a subscription, can you relay the highlights of the article?
-
“Issue” essentially focused on a bunch of the new EV industry movers or up & comers.
Nothing particularly new for information in the Aptera “article”.
Essentially they went to Aptera, had escorted rides and expressed their appreciation of Aptera’s intended goals, approach & vision as well as its uniquely organic purity, fluid lines, its overall look & cohesive execution. They also used the words “distinctly anthropomorphic” to describe the alpha prototypes.
They spent time discussing Aptera’s background; iterational & HISTORY, founder backgrounds & basic info., philosophy whilst recognizing their hiring practices ie. young aerospace engineers & graduates.
They seemed impressed with the onsite activities, technical competencies & overall coordination occurring onsite.
They were impressed with the enthusiasm of Aptera’s followers & those with orders in the production queue. They talked to a couple of “freedom seekers” who showed up unnannounced to see the prototypes as reservation holders themselves. One was a retired airline pilot from N.D. & others also showed up unnannounced from Arizona & California.
When R&T went for the ride along in SOL they acknowledged everything looked promising but certainly not yet a release candidate on a number of things like fit, rattles & ride. They did seem impressed with the acceleration and vehicle agility.
They said the vehicle dropped jaws on the street.
They discussed service & non dealer delivery strategies that we already know.
Steve Anthony confirmed an aggressive intent of producing 5,000 Aptera in 2022.
In a brief nutshell, that’s it. I do suggest buying a printed copy or an electronic one as I did. There’s more in there than just Aptera and I’m not through it yet.
Biggest part of the article really was the strong headline as much of what’s in the article is a repeat for those of us here that already know, & follow, Aptera:
HERE COMES THE SUN
AMONG GREEN-CAR ENTHUSIASTS, THE SOLAR-POWERED APTERA MIGHT BE THE MOST ANTICIPATED VEHICLE IN THE WORLD. WILL IT EVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY?

Grateful for your thorough summary of the article, Ron. I’ll probably buy a copy of the issue as you suggested. The points you mentioned lead me to the conclusion I’ve had for some time, namely that Aptera team is a credible effort with a very good chance of making good on their promises.
-
Ronster…found their line, “distinctly anthropomorphic” perplexing. Anthropomorphic literally means “human like”…as when we anthropomorphize speaking cartoon animals. I personally don’t see anything “human like” in the Aptera. Can forgive R&T guys for not being up on biological term, but do you think they meant “organic”? Since Steve indicated shape was inspired by dolphins, perhaps they should have said, “distinctly cetaceamorphic”? Just made up that last word!
-
Adding my thanks to Ronster.
I am agreeing with you, Lou, regarding the misapplication of “anthropomorphic”. Always a bit disappointing when people who write for a living (and their editors?) seem to be less adept with the language than I am. I like your “cetaceanomorphic” better, though I agree that organic is probably what they really were aiming for.
-
Could have been worse I suppose. They could have said “skeuomorphic”, a UI term that’s been thrown around quite a bit. My brain hurts;)
-
-
I’m sure the context in the actual article might shed more light but I took the description ‘definitely anthropomorphic’ to suggest, horror of horror’s, that Aptera’s context is as the human car … the one example of personal transportation that might make sense in the near future.
-
In the article, I perceived it as, or took it as meaning:
Designed around efficient human transportation, as its defined mission, without preconceptions of shape &/or historical legacies.
Logical, organic, movement, design & flow coming together to transport the human shape (occupant) efficiently; confirmed by science & all things nature.
An “inside cabin” working out logic, coming together for efficiency & cohesive balance into a then blended, defined and refined shape & overall package that simply works AND makes total sense.
Form following function and function following form.
A “Simplicity by Design” philosophy wrapped in tech, innovation & logic in support of said mission.
-
-
Perhaps the author meant to say “biomorphic”, which would seem more appropriate and is a “dictionary-approved” word.

Just Aptera DREAMING this weekend; with some others & inspired by the magazine article title.
Music in the spirit of Aptera living, loving & our earth. Thoughts of a better, more sustainable world of hope; tied to Aptera (& solar possibilities) coming out of COP26.
BTW, Music played (plays) an extensive role in in MY life & business background. That, marketing and branding to speak of a few.
If you’re offended, don’t sing along. Don’t dance either‼️ ROFL.
Music is tied to the soul or SOL? ????.
CARRY ON &/or listen Commercial FREE. ???? CHEERS!

noglastia works, so tying in some phrase with something with beatles music will prolly work pretty well given buyers are probably older people… although younger do like to be “special” and are too lazy to appreciate athletic “slow car fast” type car like a manual lotus elise/exige, so aptera would have a lot of buyers if only such buyers wouldve known…
little extra of something ive noticed recently: ignoring lyrics helps when u dont like it, and if ur making music try keeping stuff vague in case people wouldnt like it if they understood it. this has opened my mind to enjoying lot of aesthetcis in general that i used to ignore. its also more enjoyable to match it with something you like for ex. i laugh at stuff instead of trying to understand it as something to be taken seirosuly as some creators and fans do lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnYO8ff7L3M&list=PLeXgkVRgpo1NoCP4pePEXZjNRmqaeNMaV

Congratulations to Lucid. Quite an achievement to pull down that award from the mainstream automotive press ahead of all the ICE competition. Too bad the winner is over $100K!

Road & Track is available via Apple News+ a paid subscription news service. I was actually able to read the article via Apple News (the FREE part of Apple News+) I just couldn’t link to (share) it. Available for all Apple products.
