The delivery people will have to know at least how to get into the vehicle and load and unload it on the transport. It’s not much, but they should at least be able to show you how to get into the vehicle and get it moving even if they are not working directly for Aptera.

Tutorial videos and a manual built into the infotainment system is a great idea though. A one sheet printed quick start guide should be enough to teach new owners how to access such functions if they decide to go that route. I still hope for a full length printed manual though that may be outdated.

I would like an extra set of wheels for the winter. Most people here in northern Europe use different tires in the winter for better grip on snow and ice (required by law).

Well, 15-20 kW in another EV would translate to 6-8 kW for the Aptera. Full solar at 700 W would translate into a 10% range increase in optimum conditions.

Efficient aerodynamics helps most at high speeds because that’s where the aerodynamic drag is the dominating force. The aerodynamic drag probably decrease just as much at low speeds, but at low speed, other forces are a larger part of the total, so aerodynamic drag is less of an issue.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone light footed and good at hypermiling would get 1000 miles of range out of a 400 mile variant, even without solar.

I personally hope they don’t make any compromises in the aerodynamic design for the european market. Hopefully they can find another way, fitting it into one category or another. If there is no vehicle category where it fits in the EU regulations, I would like to believe this is a major oversight which should be corrected on the regulatory side, not circumvented by redesign.

Like the OP, I would also like to see the option to connect external solar panels. I would also like a tow hook option.

Even if they dont have time to work on the actual options, I hope they add support for if from the start (mounting points in the rear for a tow hook and slighly oversized or expandable solar charge controller to handle more solar) so it’s possible to retrofit all Apteras when/if the options become available.

    #2240X, July 1st 2021, 400 miles, FWD

Interior: Codex (pending review of all interiors in production vehicles)

Exterior: Custom, probably Satin Flip Glacial Frost, but also considering Gloss Deep Blue Metallic or Gloss Blue Raspberry. My wife would probably go for Gloss Fierce Fuchsia. I would like to see samples in real life before I decide though.

Camping Kit, Safety Pilot, Enhanced Audio, Off-Road Kit

    Location: Jönköping, Sweden

When you get a european version finished, I would consider attending the performance and custom motor show at Elmia, Jönköping, Sweden. It’s arranged every easter (except during pandemics). Last time it had almost 77 000 visitors. Though it’s mostly oriented towards classics, custom builds and tuning, the aptera would get a lot of exposure.

It’s also centrally located in scandinavia, which has 4 of the 6 countries in the world with the highest market share of electric vehicles.

I may be biased though, living nearby.
