My concern is how much heat can the bottom panel radiate if parked in 100° temperature on asphalt with the A/C running. Waiting to see some test results fro Gamma (hope they’ll be testing this).

Excellent and timely discussion as I was thinking just yesterday about post accident extraction with the doors opening up. An emergency hatch release on the inside could be useful. I was also thing about the Cessna 150 Aerobatic that had D-ring pins in the doors to jettison the door in the event it was necessary to exit (in flight with parachute). The single hinge on the Aptera door might be able to use something like that. Good discussion though!

Does anyone know yet what Aptera is planning regarding cameras for driver assist/self driving? I’d really like to see a camera security capability like what Tesla has. Aptera will look like nothing on the road and will attract a lot of attention. It would be good to be able to have a record of what goes on around it – driving and parked.

This would be ok for local CA buyers, but is not going to be practical for those all the way across the country. Personally I’m ok with coming to the manufacturing location for test drives.

This also brings up the issue of how can Aptera be delivered across the country. In looking into this, the width prevents it from being transported on all of the usual transportation carriers for either cars or motorcycle trikes. I’d like to know if Aptera has already come up with a solution for this.

On the topic of tires, I’d like to see a video showing how to change the tires on the motors. Even though plugging a simple flat can be done, tires can get more severely damaged and will wear so we need to know how they can be changed. I’m guessing this necessitates the removal of the motor wheel assembly. I was speaking with my mechanic (former GM Master Mechanic) about Aptera and we got into a discussion about this. He’s very intrigued by these in wheel motors and would like to know how to handle a tire replacement. Perhaps the motor manufacturer might already have something on this. It would be good to know this could be done locally when necessary. I’m already working on planning for maintenance and repair issues. Never too early.

I would use a cover at night to keep prying eyes off Aptera – especially when parked at a hotel. I see quite a few covers on expensive cars in hotel lots.
