I have the 600 miles version preordered. I live in NE Ohio so cold sunless winters will reduce the range considerably. Since there are also long periods of time with very little sun here I need some buffer to make it through times when I need to drive more to when I can maybe leave it parked for some time to catch up some. I don’t want to have to plug this in much or at all if possible except for those rare long trips.

I have thought quite a bit about what is ideal and have decided on the 600 version. I don’t do a whole lot of driving but I do do it in spurts and I also leave it parked for several days or more at a time which could top up the batteries nicely over time. I am also factoring in the 20-80% range and the fact that I live in NE Ohio where is seems like most of the year I will need to keep warm while driving.

The mesh version of the center console is the first thing I will look at changing as soon as I get mine. Maybe a 3D printing project?

Wraps do seem to be a unsatisfactory solution for a vehicle designed to sit in the sun all day long. I think infused is the way to go with purposely different colors for the wheel covers, etc… so matching isn’t an issue. Colors could be two tone schemes like black/gray or white/gray or even black/white or whatever but this way color matching between different components is not an issue.

I really want the Jetson’s sound but many other great sounds in this thread too. The cards in the spokes would probably be a very good sound for many reasons.

I didn’t really realize how wide this vehicle actually was until I started comparing to other cars, including my current 2020 Sonata and this thing is HUGE!

I am planning on my Aptera being my only vehicle living in NE Ohio where we obviously have much worse winter weather and storms. I am a little worried about snow and my reservation does have the off road package to help deal with the snow depths on the the roads here. The off road package will also probably be helpful for the potholes on the roads that plague this area. Not exactly the same but I have a 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited (non hybrid) and I REALLY like it but I am going to let it go when I finally get my Aptera. I don’t think hail damage on the solar cells is anything to worry about as from what I have been reading from Aptera they have tested them in those conditions and even if worse case they are replaceable.

As has been said it is probably fine as is but Aptera Triad or Aptera Trinity would both be good options.

I will be replacing my 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I really like this car a lot but I can’t wait for my Aptera! Unfortunately it is going to be a while…

Maybe not a deal breaker but did I read somewhere there is not going to be support for Android Auto? Really??? That will be hard to live without and not sure how I could work around that issue at this point.

Second issue is the mirrors but still probably not a deal breaker. I currently drive a 2020 Hyundai Sonata with the mirrors displayed over the gauges when the turn signals are activated. This has been my only car for over two years and I am still not really used to this feature although I do still have the physical mirrors which I do usually use. If I was forced to use the virtual displays then maybe I would get used to the idea. I have the full solar option reserved and if what I read somewhere is true about the display for the center rearview mirror being in the same place as the physical mirror would be then I am fine with that.

I usually drive with a 4 and 8 position on the steering wheel so I think I could adapt to the yoke without issue as long as the wheel had a good turning ratio. I think somewhere I also read that during long drives the driving assist helps with hand fatigue which is exactly what I have found to be true with my Sonata.

That seems much more accurate because I don’t know that many people that actually have an iPhone. Most people I know have an Android.

I am extremely happy to be in that minority. And yes, I want Android Auto.

Lots of snow and bad road conditions here and I am planning on this being my only vehicle. I will probably be getting the off-road package if for no other reasons the huge potholes we have around here especially in the spring. I believe this car should drive quite well with appropriate tiers and the wheel wells should not be an issue as they have fixed internal clearances. I would think the motors would provide some heat to help melt out any accumulations also but not sure if that even matters. Since the vehicle does have some slope to the panels that may assist in the snow sliding off and with the nasty cold winds blowing it will probably mostly blow off anyway. Worst case, I would have to push off the snow piles to get the charging back on track in the morning. Really wanting to get mine ASAP.
