I live in Switzerland, and have reserved an AWD 1000-miler full solar.

I’ll admit it: bragging rights. I want to tell my envious neighbors that my Aptera is “Charge once, drive forever”. Sunny California might get “up to” 40 miles a day recharging, but since November I might have gotten 40 miles solar charge for an entire 4 week stretch this year. I want the 1000 miles to carry me over those months when we just don’t get the sunlight. AWD because winter roads are not fun, with snow occasionally getting pretty high if the snow plows aren’t out yet.

So yeah. 1000-miler not because I drive that much, but because I’d never have to plug in.

The wheel pants – how easy are they to remove ? I tend to check tire pressure when refueling, so I suppose there is some indication somewhere for tire pressure ? The nice problem I will have is that I’ll never have to check tire pressure since I won’t ever refuel 😂

I wonder how easy it will be to inflate the rear tire as well….

Does anyone know if this has been addressed ? I’m still looking, at if I find it, I will post the answer.

Update – dunno how I missed the entire “tire rotation spare etc” thread… but still, no one has an answer. Did anyone ask during the Fully Charged event ?

Alas, this is a serious topic.

In Switzerland at least, electric cars must make noise when driving at low speeds. I’m looking into what the specs are, but the idea is that people are accustomed to hearing ICE, and therefore won’t hear a slow moving electric car.

I personally find this irritating and particularly ironic (if not moronic), because we have reduced speed limits due to noise, particularly at night (30 kph, ~20mph) in some areas (even on main roads !).

Also, as most pedestrians seem to have their concentration locked on their mobile device and are oblivious to their surroundings, I’m at a loss to explain how making noise will help. Noise pollution is harmful too !
