Agree! Might be a hard sell to the busy mechanic to take on a vehicle that is not in production but hope to find some that are like minded as you and I.

I ride a recumbent trike with two wheels up front and one in the back, just like Aptera. I have learned to avoid potholes and road debris by riding my left foot over them. With Aptera, I am planning to ride right over them in my sitting position.

The optimist me thinks that enough points of safety are readily available even now to ask for an exception to policy or a new Aptera law in Mass.

I agree. As an investor and holder of 3 reservations, strongly request tilt AND telescoping steering column. I hope Jason was mistaken in this interview.

I currently drive a non-Tesla EV and have experienced some range anxiety, not due to my drive battery capacity or speed of charging but because of the less than reliable charging infrastructure. Access to Tesla’s SuperCharger network would alleviate this significantly. Thus my elation when NACS was adopted for our Aptera. However, I also believe the DCFC will be more available and hope for more reliability so that I don’t have to provision for such a personal solution. Did think about it, though 🙂

Looks more like a vertical distance from bottom of seat to the ceiling. However, every person I have seen sitting on an alpha or gamma prototype sits reclined as in a low 2 seater sports car that this is. So, ot is very likely that you will fit – not bolt upright but leaning back.

Agree, the lack of DCFC capability was the bomb shell of this launch edition webinar. However, semper gumby! Changing my third reservation to 1000 mile version for road trips. If and when DCFC gets added, I can revert down to 400 or 600. I also suspect that Tesla Supercharger availability or lack thereof to Aptera may be the hold up in not going w DCFC for the launch.

Jason, congrats on your pre-order! No schematic but the Gamma is Here video is the best we have so far. I sat in an Alpha model last June and the butt first method works best.

Just watched Sandy Munro ask Ford’s top executives about Tesla plug. Seems Sandy is willing to lend a hand in this Aptera endeavor.

I bought another EV back in May and prior to my arrival at the dealer, it was plugged in to their level 2 charger and charged up to 80% state of charge as I had asked for. So, I am pretty sure you will be able to ask for your new Aptera to be charged up as much as you want.

Tony, for the very same reason as you mentioned I emailed and asked if I could pick up my Aptera in San Diego. I got a very nice and positive response saying that I could most certainly do so. However I am not sure that my Aptera will be available any sooner. Nevertheless, I think it’s a good idea to visit family and friends with my new Aptera 🙂

I asked for local pick up even though I live in Georgia. I have family in SoCal that I want to introduce (show off) my Aptera to. Audra replied, “.We can’t wait! That’s a brilliant plan, and we’d love to have you take delivery at the facility. I’ve made a note of this in our system. And we look forward to the adventures you and your Aptera will go on, and for your family to meet your solar electric “dream machine”.” 😀

I am a recent EV owner/operator and made a 1000 mile drive the very first day of taking ownership of my EV. Thereafter, I have had to DC fast charge only once on a 300 mile round trip and all else has been local around the home base. My initial Aptera order was for 1000 mile battery but the ease and rapidity of charging my current EV on that first long drive allowed me to change to the 400 mile version, mostly to get my Aptera sooner than later 🙂 Another reason for the change is to be more efficient. However, I did not go for the 250 mile version for the very reasons you list for your 1000 mile battery choice. I like to have a reserve for the cold days and unforeseen trips that may take me beyond the minimum range. However, I have been encouraged by recent expansion in rapid charging station availability and given no natural or manmade disaster that knocks out the electric grid, long distance trips in EVs are becoming less and less of a concern.

I am also willing to give a pass to the co-CEOs’ off the cuff thinking out loud on live stream that may have slighted the 1000 mile spec pre-order holders. I am willing to give them credit for the fact that they made the 1000 mile version available as evidence of their understanding of your particular situation. I just hope and pray that they will get the Aptera out on the streets all over the world, sooner than later 🙂
